Preparation
- In a saucepan, combine water, sugar, salt, and butter. Bring to a boil over medium heat.
- Stir in flour and baking powder until the dough pulls away from the sides of the pan and forms a smooth ball.
- Allow the dough to cool slightly (about 5 minutes), then mix in vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Cooking
- Scoop small balls of dough and place in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each.
- Air fry for about 8–10 minutes or until golden brown and slightly puffed. Check at 8 minutes to avoid over-browning.
Coating and Serving
- In a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
- Toss warm churro bites in the sugar mixture until coated, shaking off excess.
- Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
For a dairy-free version, substitute vegan butter and ensure sugar is vegan. Store cooled churro bites in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 24 hours.
