Preparation
- Start by marinating the sliced beef with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and the cornstarch.
- In a large skillet or wok, bring the vegetable oil to medium-high heat.
Cooking
- Add the marinated beef to the skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes or until browned.
- Stir in the minced garlic and ginger, cooking for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Toss in the broccoli florets and a splash of water (about 2 tablespoons). Cover and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- Pour in the remaining soy sauce and the optional oyster sauce, stirring to combine, and allow it to cook for another minute.
- Remove from heat and serve hot over a bed of steamed rice or noodles.
Notes
For a tangy twist, substitute lemon with lime juice! You might also consider using olive oil for a healthier option. For a vegan version, swap in tofu or seitan for the beef.
