  • 1 can Chickpeas, drained and rinsed For a nutrient-packed, crispy bite.
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil To help seasonings stick and add flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon Brown sugar For sweetness and caramelization.
  • 2 teaspoons Ground cinnamon For that aromatic kick.
  • 1/4 teaspoon Sea salt To balance the sweetness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Drain and rinse chickpeas (if using). Pat them dry with a clean towel.
  3. In a bowl, mix olive oil, brown sugar, cinnamon, and sea salt. Ensure your chickpeas or apple slices are well-coated.
  4. Spread the chickpeas (or apples) on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Baking
  1. Bake for 20 minutes, tossing halfway through. If you prefer extra crispiness, leave them in for another 5 minutes, but keep an eye on them.
  2. Allow to cool for a few minutes. They will continue to crisp as they cool down.

Notes

For a nutty flavor, add a tablespoon of maple syrup instead of brown sugar. Substitute apple slices for chickpeas, ensuring you coat them in a bit of lemon juice before baking.
