Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 2-3 pieces boneless & skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce For a zesty kick, try a spicy variant.
  • 1 large onion Sliced thinly.
  • 2-3 cloves garlic Minced.
  • Salt & pepper To taste.
  • 4-6 pieces buns Whole-grain or gluten-free for a healthier twist.
Optional toppings
  • Coleslaw Adds a crunchy texture.
  • Pickles For extra tang.

Method

Cooking Your Chicken
  1. Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
  2. Place sliced onions and garlic at the bottom of the Crockpot. Lay chicken breasts on top.
  3. Pour the BBQ sauce over the chicken, ensuring it’s evenly coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
Shredding and Serving
  1. Once cooked, remove the chicken and shred it with two forks. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of water to achieve your desired consistency.
  2. Pile the shredded chicken onto your choice of bun and top with coleslaw and pickles, if desired.

Notes

For health-conscious alternatives, consider using skinless chicken thighs or a sugar-free BBQ sauce. Serve with sweet potato fries or a fresh salad for a balanced meal.
