Ingredients

For the Pizza Dough
  • 2 cups bread flour (or a mix of bread and all-purpose flour)
  • 1 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • ¾ cup warm water Ensure it's warm to activate the yeast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
For the Pizza Toppings
  • 1 cup tomato sauce (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Optional toppings: pepperoni, bell peppers, onions, olives, mushrooms, fresh basil, arugula, etc. Customize according to your preference

Method

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. Add the flour, olive oil, and salt, mixing until a dough begins to form.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth. Place in a lightly oiled bowl and cover with a cloth. Let it rise for 20 minutes.
Preheat and Prepare
  1. Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
  2. Punch down the risen dough and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
Assemble Your Pizza
  1. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the dough.
  2. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese generously, then layer your favorite toppings.
Bake
  1. Slide the pizza onto a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
Serve and Enjoy
  1. Let it cool for a minute, garnish with fresh basil or arugula, slice, and serve hot!

Notes

For a tangy twist, substitute regular cheese with goat cheese. Consider using whole-wheat flour for a healthier dough option.
