- In a bowl, combine soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger to make the marinade. Whisk until smooth.
- Slice the steak into thin strips and add it to the marinade. Let it sit for at least 10 minutes.
Cooking
- Prepare rice according to package instructions. If using brown rice, account for a slightly longer cooking time.
- In a skillet over medium heat, add a drizzle of oil and sauté the bell peppers and carrots until slightly tender, about 3-5 minutes.
- Increase the heat to high, add the marinated steak strips, and cook for about 3-4 minutes until they reach your desired doneness.
Assembly
- In bowls, layer rice followed by the sautéed vegetables and cooked steak. Drizzle with additional sauce if desired and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Notes
For a more intense flavor, consider marinating the steak overnight. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of water before cooking.
