Ingredients

For the Meatza Crust
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 pound ground chicken can substitute with turkey or beef
  • ¾ cup shredded mozzarella cheese about 3 ounces; other melting cheese, such as provolone, can be used
  • ¼ cup shredded Parmesan cheese about ¾ ounce; can substitute with nutritional yeast for a dairy-free option
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
For Toppings
  • ½ cup sauce of choice options include marinara, pesto, or alfredo
  • 1 cup shredded cheese of choice about 4 ounces; a blend of mozzarella and cheddar works well
  • 2-4 ounces pepperoni slices or other meat toppings crumbled cooked Italian sausage, bacon, or veggies for a non-meat option

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a baking sheet with a silicone mat or parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Combine all the crust ingredients in a food processor. Pulse until evenly mixed and smooth.
  3. Spread the crust mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a circle or rectangle about ¼ inch thick.
Baking
  1. Bake the crust for 25 minutes, or until lightly browned and firm to the touch.
  2. Remove the crust from the oven. Top it with your favorite sauce, shredded cheese, and meat toppings.
  3. Return the meatza to the oven and bake for an additional 8 to 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Serving
  1. Serve hot and enjoy your carnivore-friendly snack!

Notes

To store leftovers, allow the meatza to cool completely, then wrap tightly in plastic wrap or aluminum foil. Keep it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best texture.
