Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- With a serrated knife, slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally while keeping them attached.
- In a small bowl, mix together the softened butter, garlic powder, and onion powder, then spread this mixture on the inside of each half of the rolls.
- Layer half of the shredded cheese on the bottom half of the rolls. If using, add sliced tomatoes or cooked bacon on top.
- Cover with the remaining cheese, then place the top half of the rolls back on.
Cooking
- Wrap the entire assembly in aluminum foil and bake for 12 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 8 minutes until golden brown and melty.
- Let them cool for a few minutes, then cut into individual sliders and serve warm.
Notes
For added variety, consider pairing sliders with a side salad or tomato soup, and use gourmet dipping sauces. To avoid overcooking, keep an eye on the sliders as they bake.
