  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup salted caramel sauce store-bought or homemade
  • 1/4 teaspoon sea salt

  • Dark chocolate for dipping (70% cacao or higher for a healthier variant)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded coconut, sweetened condensed milk, vanilla extract, and sea salt.
  2. Stir until the mixture is well combined. If it’s too sticky, add a bit more coconut.
Forming the Macaroons
  1. Using your hands, roll the mixture into small balls about 1 inch in diameter.
  2. Wet your hands with a little water to prevent sticking.
Chilling
  1. Place the macaroons on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for about 20 minutes until firm.
  2. If you want a firmer texture, chill them for an extra 10 minutes.
Coating
  1. Drizzle salted caramel sauce over the chilled macaroons.
  2. For a gourmet touch, dip the bottom of each macaroon in melted dark chocolate before placing them back on parchment.
